You know who has a ridiculously good burger? Burger Street! :D

So much for taking a quick break right? Well if you must know, Other B wanted to feel like a Texas traitor for a moment and in a lapse of judgement decided that he wanted to try In-N-Out. as you can tell, We are as Texan as they come and with that being said, we love Dairy Queen *we know they’re not Texan, but they’re okay in my book if they have a Texas promotion* Braum’s, and Whataburger!
but back to the review..

we both got a Double Double. they asked if we wanted onions, which i thought was a weird question to ask, cause onions kinda make and enchance the burger… in my honest opinion. but whatever. to each his own right?
so the guy is pretty nice to us, confirms our orders, and tells us our order number, cool cool. we wait, and wait, and wait some more.. like 19 mins for our orders to be ready, how long does it take to make two double cheese burgers? not that fucking long! but whatever maybe it’s the quality of the burger.. talking all 19 bumfuck mins give me my shit…
Other B made a very intelligent observation in comparing our Holy Grail Whataburger to In-N-Out, Whataburger ALWAYS gives you your Order # and TAKES your food to your table.. in-n-out makes you pick up your order *maybe we’re being lazy and a tad too harsh but things like that make or break your impression of a place… cause you come for the food and you stay for the service*

We get our food… and here are the observations
What in the astro fuck is Thousand Island doing on my fucking burger?
Why are these fries looking like they JUST hopped out of a freezer???
Where are the pickles? is cali to fucking classy for pickles?
and where in BFE is the MF Mayo? shit even the Mustard!
These fries are supposed to be fresh?
SRSLY? they dont look like they’re fresh.
they legit tasted processed like i came from a bag in the freezer..
people waited in line for this shit?
dumbasses.
ALL THOSE WERE OBSERVATIONS BEFORE TAKING AN ACTUAL FIRST BITE
So now to the actual first bite…

the thousand island dressing serves no actual flavor enhancement
the meat is too rough, so much for fresh ingredients..
the lack of mayo is really killing this burger.
the burger fell apart asap. i was picking vegetables off the burger cause they were hotter than room temp, and were super soggy. gross.
in the end all i ate was meat, bun, thousand island, and cheese.
the fries were beyond ridiculous.
they didn’t taste the least bit fresh.
they dont even season the meat… #wheretheydothatat?
the only good part was the cheese and dealing with the cheese was like dealing with some hella thick Peanut Butter..
the burger wasnt even filling… all that hype and that shit couldnt even fill me up. smh.
The fries
soggy
not fresh looking or tasting
not even drowning them in ketchup could mask the processed flavor they had.
at least if our fries are processed we dont go trying to claim their freshness.
or that they’re actually cut from a potato in the actual restaurant…
Natural fries dont look or taste like that.
The Shake

you see this shit?
2.50 n some more shit for this small ass irrelevant shake.
that hoe didnt even taste like strawberry..
it was watered down like a mug.
i regretted my decision as soon as i tasted it.
it was not worth the 2.50..
at all.
braums makes a better shake for a cheaper price on a bad day.
how the hell does some one fuck up a shake? that’s like the easiest shit to make.
and it didnt even compliment my meal in the least. and shakes are known to make your burger and fries 10 times better.

In the end the only thing i complimented was the ketchup, and the fact that they were really nice; but shit i would be too if my burgers were subpar.. and are burgers the only things they offer? really? just burgers? that royally suck? i guess i have to have low-quality tastebuds to enjoy the burgers here. Hamburgers were created in Texas and texans know a good burger. so dont try to come to me with that bullshit.. in-n-out was not living up to it’s hype.
This place was way too hyped up all filler and no fucking killer, I ended up throwing away more than what I ate. I guess I’ll stick to Whataburger where I know the quality of their burgers will never let me down.
they get .5 out of 5… and that’s me being generous.
oh and i went to the i-63& i-75 location..

Sandra here (usually accompanied by Other B) to bring you the unbiased joy that is THEFIRSTBITE so our next stop is Tejano Tex-Mex Restaurant in Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. So first off as an Oak Cliff Native, Tejano’s is the place to be. And how could I tell you about amazing food in the DFW if I didn’t mention my favorite place! So, lemme get started on the amazingness that is Tejanos.
Everyone is friendly, and very welcoming, I swear it’s like walking into your friend’s house *the nice friends that offer something to drink and some food; just so you know* and enjoying the amazing southern hospitality. You’re always greeted with a genuine smile by the friendliest people.. in my 12 years of eating here I’ve never had a bad experience.
so now onto the food!

The Chips and Salsa usually are just there to take up your time by being plain and bland, this doesn’t apply to these chips and salsa they are badass enough that they should seriously be a menu item. These things can and will fill you up, they have the special ability to make you full just as you see your food arriving to your table, but anyway as far as the chips go they arent too salty, nor do they fall apart at first touch, made just right. The salsa is the most perfect salsa in Dallas, you can taste everysingle vegetable used in the salsa, the tomatoes, cilantro, onions, avocado, and chiles. it’s thick and chunky.
I ordered the Catfish Platter
I made the mistake of getting Chips N Salsa Happy that when the food came I was feeling mad full.
I waited 10 Mins, and then tucked in..
the catfish isnt a fillet, so expect bones.
the tartar sauce is made in-house
along with the Cole Slaw.
The Catalina/Cocktail sauce was perfect
the fish wasnt overflavored or overbreaded it was nice and smooth
and the french fries were nice and crisp.
Ketchup and catalina sauce are the absolute. best.
Other B ordered the Fajita (Chicken/Beef) Nachos

Other B’ Nachos:
Fajita Beef and Chicken the full order
They are PACKED
the chips aren’t soggy or soft they had the right amount of crunch
the beans and cheese go to gether so well.
Nothing was overseasoned
The cheese was extra cheesy
BETCHA CANT EAT JUST ONE!
When we paid our food on the counter they had the most amazing Pecan Praline candy I have ever had. DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT. I truly hope I did my favorite restaurant justice. Until the Next Bite.

So first food post, omg estoy muy muy EXCITED!
Other B had told me that it was the best roadtrip pit stop. I totally called bs, and was I proven wrong! These were the things that caught my attention the most
THE RESTROOMS were immaculate. the Virgen herself would love this restroom
This place is like a Love’s gas station but like 83 Million times better,
all the Cool Texas decor and roadtrip gifts
they even seperated the Texas Longhorns, from Texas A&M
The gift items were seperate from the food
Their food.
the snacks pecans, nuts, everything you could think of and havent thought of
So now to the tacos… as a Mexican-American I tend to be biased about our tacos, and our food. Buc-ee’s like legitmately has some delicious tacos. I tried the Whale tacos, in beef and chicken fajita. they both came with salsa, sour cream, veggies, and the tortillas were legit good. It’s like I had travelled with a mini mexican kitchen in the Aveo. but no. flavors complimented each other, i wanted more, but was too full to finish actually eat more. At $2 a pop they better be. but anyways the only things that I didn’t fangirl over was the fact that the tortillas were too chewy, the salsa wasn’t spicy enough(but that didnt really hurt the taco’s flavor) and that the meat was a bit rough. As far as tacos go, they are pretty high on my plate. I legitimately loved them. and i can’t wait until I have the chance to try them again.
BTW the flavors were enhanced by a large Coca-Cola icee!
PLEASE STOP BY BUCEE’S and check out their great selections. you wont regret it!

YO and hello! I am Sandra and I love food!
I got the idea of thefirstbite by showing my other B all the legit Mexican food places I frequent. and he brought up the fact that I’m a foodie. Shit who isnt? I love food, I will make the best effort to not be biased on the Mexican food and try to showcase all of the legit places in the DFW
I may include recipes for amazing food. that’s if I decide to cook it. Hopefully everything will be properly tagged. and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEAASE suggest all the wonderful places that dallas has to offer, if it’s a chain please include the legit location via ask or submit!
